There seems to plenty of Forex Information available on the internet. It seems. Just Google Forex and you’ll find an abundance of ads, websites, blogs, and plenty of scams too.

The internet has revolutionized the information age but nothing beats a hard cover book that you’ll be glued to, turning the pages.

You’d think there’d be plenty of books on Forex, Technical Indicators, Chart Patterns, and Technical Analysis for the Forex Market but truth be told there are just a handful, and finding a good book on Forex can be as rare as finding a V shaped recovery on the daily chart. There there, but just not in abundance.

Here are some of my favorite books, feel free to <a href="http://forexcurrencydaytrader.com/contact/"title="contact me" >contact me if you have some great suggestions:

Technical analysis of the currency market : classic techniques for profiting from market swings and trader sentiment / Boris Schlossberg.

The FX bootcamp guide to strategic and tactical Forex trading / Wayne McDonell.

<a href="http://www.forexdaytradingwebinar.com"title="Free Day Trading Webinar - day trading is easier than you think!" >Day trading and swing trading the currency market : technical and fundamental strategies to profit from market moves / Kathy Lien.

Left Brain Trading: The right mindset and technique for success in Forex / Lewis Evans and Olga Sheean

And if you’re looking for some fiction that is trading related I recommend “The Marketmaker”.

it’s not as exciting as it sounds… 42K somewhat part time jobs disappeared and the majority of the jobs created were by women over 50.

Not exactly an optimistic outlook. A decade ago many Europeans warned that there’ll be major employment issues if the young people are out of work.

It would be far more exciting to see men and women UNDER 50 re-entering the workforce. The month before, April 2010 170K jobs were added. So it’s no surprise that this double whammy of bad news has driven the Canadian Dollar lower.

Oil prices too aren’t helping, with the economy continuing to struggle world wide the demand for oil will continue to drop and so it’s price thereby effecting the CAD $ as it is driven by this commodity price also.

We at ForexYard encourage our customers to get involved in the most intense market events. As such, we think you should know that the U.S. Unemployment Claims figures are expected tomorrow, May 13, at 12:30 (GMT), and you need to be prepared. Market events like this one tend to create either big changes to current trends or push them even further. Generally, the majors are the ones most affected by market events but Crude Oil, Gold prices, and even the price of Silver can change dramatically in the seconds after such a publication. For more information about the U.S. Unemployment Claims, please read below.

What are the U.S. Unemployment Claims?

U.S. Unemployment Claims, also known as Jobless Claims, is a survey used to measure the number of individuals who filed for unemployment insurance for the first time during the past week within the United States of America. It is released on a weekly basis, about 5 days after the week ends. Every state in the U.S offers jobless insurance programs that must conform to rules set down by federal law. The Labor Department in Washington then gathers all the data submitted by each state and releases the updated figures to the public on the following Thursday.
The number of unemployed individuals is an important gauge of general economic health because employed citizens are more likely spend and, therefore, more likely to increase total consumer spending.

If the Survey Comes Inline with Market Forecasts

Expectations for this week suggest that the U.S. Unemployment Claims have decreased from 444K to 440K. Last Friday’s U.S. Non-Farm Employment Change Report came well above predicted levels. That being said, the U.S. unemployment rate actually rose over the last month. This tells us that while the U.S. economy has made significant strides in recent months, unemployment is still a major cause for concern. The last three weeks have shown new unemployment claims come in above analyst predictions. Should this week reveal that the number of people filing for benefits has actually decreased from last weeks figure, USD could see upward movement against its major currency rivals, especially the Euro and British Pound.

If the Survey Comes in Above Market Forecasts

When the actual figure is higher than forecasted, traders are likely to see the USD depreciate against its currency pairs and crosses. Higher then expected unemployment leads to decreased investor confidence in the U.S. economic recovery. More people claiming jobless benefits mean that there is a decreased amount of discretionary spending among American consumers. In a consumer driven economy, like the one in the United States, events like this could potentially lead to lasting economic damage. If unemployment claims come in well above forecasted levels, traders can expect other safe-haven currencies like the Japanese Yen to make gains, and the Dollar to drop against its major currency rivals.

We at ForexYard encourage our customers to get involved in the most intense market events. As such, we think you should know that the U.S. Trade Balance is expected to be released tomorrow, May 12th, at 12:30 GMT, and you need to be prepared. Generally, the Majors are the ones most affected by market events in general, but Crude Oil, Gold prices, and even the price of Platinum can change dramatically in the seconds after such a publication. For more information about the U.S. Trade Balance please read below.

What is the U.S. Trade Balance?

The U.S. Trade Balance is the difference between the amount of goods and services exported versus the amount imported into and out of the United States. A positive number in this report indicates that there is a trade surplus, meaning the U.S. has exported more than it has imported. A negative number is the opposite: a trade deficit, also called a trade gap. A trade deficit results from importing more than the country exports.

This report is issued monthly, usually 40 days after the end of the month. Export demand and currency demand are directly linked because foreigners must buy the domestic currency to pay for the nation’s exports. Export demand also impacts production and prices at domestic manufacturers. As such, if export demand grows, even marginally, it will indicate that the USD will gain some small momentum to its recent bullish strength. If, however, the trade deficit continues to worsen, the USD could potentially see a reversal.

If the Report Comes In-Line with Market Forecasts

Currently the U.S. Trade Balance, while a negative number historically, is forecast to increase from -39.7B to -40.0B. If this report is indeed released in-line with market forecasts, then it will signify that demand for U.S. exports has increased slightly. Since U.S. goods and services must be bought with USD, the value of the Dollar will have inherently increased as well as a result of this indicator. Likewise, if this indicator is in fact released as an even higher number than forecast, the bullish run in the USD may continue to gain momentum. With a release of this nature, traders may witness the USD resume its bullish run and probably test the 1.2500 price level against the EUR once more.

If the Report Surprises with a Contradiction to Market Forecasts

As of now, the U.S. Trade Balance is predicted to indicate that demand for U.S. goods and services has increased and the deficit has shrunk slightly. If, however, this report indicates that this demand has in fact increased less than forecasted, or even decreased, the result will likely convince investors that the U.S. economy is not significantly improving as previously thought. A negative release of this kind may actually force the Dollar into a bearish correction, testing the 1.2800 level against the EUR in the short-term.

The first Friday of every month is Non-Farm Payroll (NFP) Day, an exciting trading time for those trading the news.

Here is what <a href="http://forexcurrencydaytrader.com/2010/05/12/forexyard-experiencing-difficulties/"target="_blank"title="Warning - Read this before you consider signing up with Forexyard as your Forex Broker" >Forexyard has to say about it:

Be Prepared! US Non-Farm Employment Change Tomorrow at 13:30 GMT

We at ForexYard encourage our customers to get involved in the most intense market events. As such, we think you should know that U.S. Non-Farm Employment Change figures are expected on Friday, February 5th, at 13:30 GMT, and you need to be prepared. Market events like this one tend to create either big changes to current trends or push current trends even further. For more information about the U.S. Non-Farm Employment Change report, please read below.

What is Non-Farm Employment Change?

The U.S. Non-Farm Employment Change, also known as “Non-Farm Payrolls” (NFP) and the “Employment Report,” is a monthly economic indicator used to measure the change in the number of employed people in the United States, excluding the farming industry.

Each month the Current Employment Statistics Program (CESP) surveys about 150,000 businesses, representing approximately 390,000 worksites, in order to provide detailed industry data on employment, work-hours, and earnings of workers on non-farm payrolls for all 50 U.S. states. The survey is then published on the first Friday of each month.

The NFP is an important leading indicator that also affects consumer spending, which accounts for a majority of overall economic activity. Traders value the indicator with the highest importance as its early monthly release can set the tone for the rest of the month’s market movement.

How this Report Can Help the USD

Expectations for this month reveal that the Non-Farm Employment Change figures are forecasted to rise 10K from last month’s reading of -85K. Such a result, should it take place, will be the first time this figure has been positive since January 2008. The continuation of the economic recovery, which is being fought for vehemently by the U.S. government, has created some return of optimism in the market, which is driving traders to invest in the American economy once more. Considering that this survey has delivered negative figures for years now, a sudden rise could signal a reversal to any bearishness in the USD. This would mean the USD could be facing a very fortunate weekend, causing the EUR/USD cross to drop towards the 1.3650 level.

How this Report Can Hurt the USD

If the actual figure is lower than forecasted, a reading near -60K for example, traders are likely to see USD bearishness. Currently, investors are setting their positions on the USD based on the assumption that by the end of the week the USD could face a continuation to its bullish momentum. However, in case the survey delivers worse figures than expected, investors might be compelled to reevaluate their strategies and go short on the USD. In this turn of events, the USD may receive a small beating in the market, and the EUR/USD could rise back towards the 1.4000 price level.

The end of fossil fuel resources is near. The way oil and other natural resources have been extracted from the earth in the last century; the world is in danger of facing global warming as well as depletion of these precious resources. Do you know China is the largest producer of coal? Coal production n China would peak somewhere around 2010-2020. Are you aware of the fact that the peak of the global oil production (all liquids, including unconventional oil) will peak in the next few years.

The global peak of uranium production lies somewhere around2025-2050. The global peak of natural gas production lies somewhere around 2025! You must be thinking what to do every available source of energy seems to be peaking in the near future?

But there are many safe and environmentally friendly methods to generate the energy required. Uptill now these methods had been ignored maybe because they were a bit expensive. They were expensive in the sense that these methods factor in the external costs that were previously being ignored. Do you know this fact that the US Department of Energy has estimated that there is enough available offshore wind energy of the coasts of US that can nearly cover the current US electricity capacity? So what will fill this void in energy production in the coming decades?

With introduction of energy saving technology in the fluorescent lamps and bulbs, a lot of energy can be saved. If every bulb in the US was replaced with an energy efficient fluorescent lamp, enough energy could be saved to shut down around 100 power plants. If all the care in US were hybrids by 2025 that would roughly reduce 80% of the US oil import.

Enough power could be generated for the entire US by covering only 9% of Nevada desert with parabolic trough systems. This is something like a plot of land 100 by 100 miles. So the solution is already there and as the end of fossil fuel nears which is only a decade away, more and more alternative energy solutions will be used to generate cheap energy.

This is something that is bound to happen. The supplies of fossil fuel are finite and will be exhausted in the near future. You might have seen only a glimpse of that last year in 2008 when crude oil prices jumped to around $150 per barrel.

There is little doubt that companies operating in the green energy sector will ultimately become the major players in the overall energy generation and transportation mix of tomorrow. This prediction is based on our insatiable energy consumption and the lack of conventional supplies to meet the growing energy demand. This is most probably the safest long term bet that you can make in the long term.

Imagine Henry Ford in 1909 asking you to invest in his Ford Motor Company that is about to mass produce a horseless carriage. Keeping in view the above facts, investing in green energy stocks in the best long term investment that you can make!

He tells you that this invention could change the entire landscape of the country. Knowing everything that you know right now with the power of hind sight with you, you will definitely say yes. But many folks in that year of 1909 were skeptical about Model T success. This is now 2009, exactly a century has passed. Do you think investing in green energy stocks is a bad idea?

The Forex market operates 24 hours, 5 days a week. This is one of the strong points of currency trading compared to stock trading. You'll find more great opportunities, 5 days a week. Non Stop.

When is the best time to trade?

Just because you can trade 24 x 5 doesn't mean you should be glued to your computer 5 days a week around the clock. However there are some key times you'll want to check in on the Forex Market.

    * The US Session starts at 1pm GMT (8am Eastern) and overlaps with the closing of the London Session.
    * The Asian Session starts at 1am GMT (8pm Eastern)
    * The London Session starts at 8am GMT (3am Eastern) and overlaps with the closing of the Asian Session
    * When sessions overlap - Such as the US and European Sessions, see above
    * Around News Times - Some stay away from news times, others trade them religiously. Be sure to check the economic calendar. Typically news is released towards the beginning of the session.
    * Whenever you've been profitable in the past - Quite simply put, if you find that your trading history reveals that there are times you're very profitable and make many pips, keep doing whatever you're doing.

Please note that the Market Hours may vary in Summer/Winter times, ie. Daylight Savings.
