Slow Trading on Easter Friday
There was a 100pip spike on most currency pairs today due to the US non-farm payroll reports. The Economy added 162,00 jobs in march, just shy of the 184,000 expected. The official unemployment rate is at 9.7%. This resulted in a higher USD. The Yen pairs dropped today across the board. The good news is that the majority of the jobs added accounts for private section.
Other than that trading is fairly slow and flat. The European Markets are closed today for Easter Friday and while the US Market is Open, it is likely in vacation mode.
Upcoming USD News and Non Farm Pay Roll Report
It’s official, the Non-Farm Payroll is this Friday. As always, every first Friday of the month.
There was some confusion and uncertainty as this Friday is Good Friday and some brokers’ support are closed, however just today there were several more USD News events for April 1st and the NonFarm Payroll News Times were released as well:
